Hi Carrie! Sorry I'm just now seeing this. I'm glad you enjoyed the book--thank you for reading it! I had read about trafficking and had seen stories on the news, though I didn't have plans to write about it. Later, as I was working on the novel, I saw an article about a case that hit close to home, and at that point I started digging deeper and learning more. There is a great organization here where I live that is working hard to fight trafficking and help victims in our area.
