Mara Valderran Hi! I'm so sorry for the delay in answering this--yes there is absolutely a sequel called "Fractured Minds" and is currently published exclusively on Wattpad. You can also find a preview of the third and final book in the Altar of Reality series ("Sacrificial Soul") on there as well as the entire Heirs of War series. Thank you so much for reaching out! I'm so glad you liked the book. :)
Mara Valderran There are so many! My most recently added favorite would be the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. One of my all time favorite series would be The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, and The Harry Potter series by JK Rowling.
Mara Valderran By overanalyzing and introspection in an attempt to figure out what is blocking me until such a time that I say "Ef it" and get back to work. ;) Or I listen to music and start writing until it starts to flow.
Mara Valderran Exploring different worlds, places, people, and experiences you might never come across in your life. I'm a full time dreamer, which makes all the hard work worth it.
Mara Valderran Keep writing and revising, and keep in mind that writing is a skill that can either grow or grow stagnate, depending on how willing you are to listen to criticism and expand on your talents. Keep an open mind and the possibilities will be endless.
Mara Valderran I'm currently working on the second book in the Shifted Realities series after Altar of Reality. Once I wrap up this series, I'll move back to Heirs of War. I'm also working on a collaborative project on Wattpad with a good friend that's about superheroes.
Mara Valderran I get inspired to write through music, television, movies, books... something that speaks to me and sparks some kind of story to tell. Mostly music since there's so much emotion and story in a single song.
Mara Valderran For Altar of Reality, the idea came to me while attending the Unchained Tour, featuring Neil Gaiman. The tour was a storytelling event, and the host/MC Peter Aguero's story was about his wife's struggle with severe epilepsy, and his struggle alongside her. It was very moving, and towards the end, he posed the question of what happens to her during the seizures. How does she feel? What does she experience, even if she doesn't remember it? And the idea came to mind that maybe her consciousness goes somewhere else, to some other place. Thus the idea of a girl shifting to an alternate reality after her first grand mal seizure was born, and it continued to grow from there.
