Diane Bator Any fictional world where I could live on a beach, get paid big money to write books and solve mysteries, and swim in the ocean every day. That might lead to a bigger mystery: Where did I disappear to?
Diane Bator Interesting question. I've used a few things from my life in my books but I'm not sure I have any real life mysteries I could use - aside from family drama! Possibly the biggest mystery is why one family member changed their name before moving to another country and starting their family. Rumour says it was the way things were translated back then. But could there be more to the story?
Diane Bator Computer crashed!
Diane Bator I have soooo many books on my list! A lot of them are books I've been promising to read for other authors but I also have a few I'll sneak in there just because... Either way, I hope to read a few more books than usual this year!
Diane Bator My newest novel, coming in September 2020, was inspired by a short story I wrote years ago. I needed an idea for doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November and decided to toy with it. That short story has become Drop Dead Cowboy.
Diane Bator Inspiration pops up in many ways. Either when I'm out for a walk, taking a warm bath, or even while watching television. Anything can bring inspiration if you are open to it!
Diane Bator Don't give up doing what you love and be sure to find a great editor!
Diane Bator If I'm stuck for an idea or trying to work through a scene, I do something different. I got for a walk, work on another project, maybe even do some cooking or cleaing.
Diane Bator A new Gilda Wright novel called Dead Without Shame that will be released in early 2020. Also looking to publish a whole new series, the first book of which is titled Written in Stone.
And because I just can't sit still, I'm working on a new book for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) 2019. The working title is Drop Dead Cowboy.
Diane Bator I get to create whole towns, characters, and situations the characters all have to wriggle their way out of. If I want to change a name, I can. If I want something to work out differently, it can. I can take the best or the worse of any person I see, hear or think up and turn them into someone my readers will either love or hate.
