Hmm. Well the one I'm thinking of working on would be how I found my way from England, my birthplace, to Australia and then to Canada (and now to Mexico). There are some twists and turns in there that could make for a really intriguing plot!

I usually have at least two manuscripts on the go and when I find I have come to a halt with one, I simply switch to the other. Now if only I could find a way to deal with writer's avoidance!!!

I am currently working on the 4th book in the Dan Connor mystery series. Titled "Gray Sea Running" it is set in the Broughton archipelago, off the northeast coast of Vancouver Island.

I think a better question would be "how do I stop writing?" After spending 30-plus years sailing the west coast visiting the places I write about and listening to the stories of the people who live there, I think I have enough "ideas" to last two lifetimes!

One of my grandkids is autistic and I wanted to explore the vulnerabiity that creates. Setting the story in Haida Gwaii allowed me to isolate my character, Joel, even more and the incredible beauty and rich culture to be found there provided a wonderful contrast to the environmental issues surrounding pipelines.
