What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Margo Kelly When I go camping, I love to read. I'm especially looking forward to reading: Salt to the Sea, The Serpent King, Tricky Twenty-Two, Silence Fallen, and so many more!

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Margo Kelly Oh. Great question! When my daughter was nearly abducted by an online predator ... THAT became the plot for my debut novel, WHO R U REALLY?! Mystery. Suspense. Intrigue. Real life translated to paper. (Much scarier in real life.)

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?
Margo Kelly My favorite fictional couple would have to be: Odd Thomas and Stormy Llewellyn from Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas series. ;)

Hi! I love your book, I recently got suggested to read it by my school librarian. It WAS AMAZING! I had to stop reading it during sometimes because I was so scared to see what would happen!!! But the question is- Why do you love writing scary stories? Is it just for the thrill or for a specific reason?
Margo Kelly Hi Sarah! Thank you. I love to write scary stories, because I love to be scared. Seriously! From a young age, I would stay up late at night watching scary movies, all alone and in the dark! Now my daughter and I watch movies in the dark together. Our family doesn't play "Hide & Seek" - we play "Hide & Scare" - - - we hide with the goal of jumping out and scaring the person who's seeking. It's funny (and startling). So ... I write scary stories for the simple reason that I like to be scared myself. If I get the goosebumps while I'm writing it, I hope it will also give readers the goosebumps while reading! I'm glad you enjoyed the book, and I hope you'll enjoy the next one: UNLOCKED which will be published in October 2016. Happy reading! Margo

I saw your book at Hyde Park Books yesterday! It was great fun to be able to say, "Hey, I know that author!" I was only hunting nonfiction at the time but noted the title for future shopping trips. Do you think it would be appropriate for, say, 14-year-olds? I love the idea of the lessons they could take away from reading it.
Margo Kelly Hi Kate! Hyde Park Books is awesome. I love that store and its owner. :) And YES! - - - Who R U Really? is perfect for a 14-yr-old. I recommend it for mature 11-yr-olds and up. There's no sex, but there is a conversation that skirts around cyber-sex. There's no bad language, but there is violence during the climax at the end. I hope 2015 brings you all the books you want - - - and time to read them all. :)
