Similar to a running wall, you either let it stop you forever, try to find a way around it, or you plow on through it. I guess it depends how important the 'marathon' really is to you.

Undoubtedly, the Harry Potter books really got me into Fantasy fiction...But I think I was always most inspired by Myths and Legends, and also superheroes. I was raised on folk-lore, and as a result it has had a vast impact in my writing.
