I don't experience this often as my work is so character based. Often it's simply a matter of asking the question of "What would my character do."
If I am having trouble working through a section, I write. I try new ideas. I may hit the delete button or cut and paste several pages to a save for later folder, but I keep at it. If I can't decide whether to handle a situation one way or another, I will explain the situation with my wife, children or editor. It usually opens up in front of my eyes.
One thing to keep in mind, I may rewrite/revise a chapter a dozen or more times. Then send it to my editor. When i get it back from her, I will rewrite again before I send it to my final editor.

I have a new book, Shadow Knight: set to be released any week now. It's a Vampire/Western. Set in 1875. When his grown niece is kidnapped to be sold in Mexico, Aaron, a vampire, arrives to help in the rescue.
