I'm so sorry it's taken so long to reply. I sort of "lost track" of my online presence for a while there.
Anyway, I just got the Indulgence series back up on Amazon. I've had to do a lot of reworking/republishing since Loose Id closed.

The series will have four books total. I'm working book 3 right now and I'm about a third of the way done. Book 3 is all about our lovely Julian =) hehehe. Book four is...nope! I can't yet. Too many spoilers =D --LG

Sorry it took me so long to see this question! I am terrible at navigating goodreads.
Anyway, I'm about 1/3 done with book 3 and am really aiming to send it off to my publisher by the end of February. Trying to avoid another year long wait this time, lol.

Misty, like I told Eriba, sorry about taking so long with a response. I am terrible at navigating the goodreads message systems =(. But, book 2 "One Glimpse" should be out in the next two months or so. =)

Oh! So sorry it took me 2 freakin' months to respond to your message. I am such a newb when it comes to navigating Goodreads, =( Anyway, the second book is come out soon, hopefully within the next two months. My editor will be giving me my first line edits any day now. This second book is mostly about Sir Samuel, but Julian is there. His book will be book three ;)

I started reading m/m romance only about a year ago, but I've been reading historical fiction and romance since I was a kid. I just loved the idea of them going together, and it wasn't long until my typical day dreams of historical romance started to appear WITHOUT the lady, LOL. ;) I've also read all of Ava March's books, and they really inspired me to write One Indulgence because, prior to reading them, I was not confident that a happily-ever-after could realistically be pulled off in a gay historical romance.

I seem to never really stop day dreaming, so "getting" inspired has never been a problem. I suppose getting motivated would be a bigger problem. I can't focus on writing unless everything else in my life is settled and out of the way. If there are things I need to do and stresses coming at me from other directions, I can't write.

I'm currently working on the second book in my Indulgence series. This one is titled, so far, One Glimpse. I am also working on chapter updates to the third book in my Star Trek fanfiction series, Ascent. I have not updated the book in months and months and I feel like I'm really letting my readers down there. =(

My advice would depend on the aspiring writers' goals. If they want to make a living at it and quit their day jobs, then practicality would force me to advise them to look into what is popular, what sells, and see if they can mold their own ideas to those hot genres. If the goal is not necessarily money, then I say JUST WRITE. With self-publishing these days, you can put out anything your imagination conjures and it will be live and available to everyone within hours. E-publishing has changed the market in extraordinary ways.

Knowing that other people have enjoyed my work. I wrote fan-fiction for years--which obviously makes no money--and was always thrilled every time I got a new review of comment. It makes it all worth the time.

I try to expose myself to things that have influenced me or given me inspiration in the past...like particular movies or books. I will also take a long drive, since driving seems to be one of the few venues in which I can do some real thinking =)
