YAY! It's rare that I meet a fellow Balance and Composure fan, so your message made me smile this morning. Love them. We've seen them live twice over the years and they never disappoint. My favorite bands of the moment are: Manchester Orchestra, The Hunna, and Nothing But Thieves. There are so many others too, like Everyone You Know, that never fail to make me obsess over everything they release. Who are your favorite bands? I'm always looking for new music.

The cover song they play is one of the few songs in the book I never really thought about. So, I guess my answer is, I don't know. "Mr. Brightside" would be a killer cover with acoustic guitar and violin though. :)

At this point there will only be one more book - Gus's. Keller and Stella will be in it though, if that makes you feel any better. :) I love Gus and Keller equally. I couldn't leave my boy, Keller, out in the cold and forget about him. :)

Gus love! Yay! Me too. LOOOOOOOVE Gus. :) I couldn't give him up when Bright Side was done. Working on his story now. It begins where Bright Side leaves off with him. Should be out early 2015. Thanks for asking.

Connecting with readers. I know what it feels like, as an avid reader, to fall in love with a story. It's magical. So, when someone reads one of my books and finds that kind of connection with my story - it Blows. My Mind. Because I know exactly what that feels like and it's amazing. That kind of connection with a reader is the reason I write.

Family road trip almost two years ago. My husband and I were bouncing ideas off each other across a long stretch of desolate Nebraska highway. Bright Side was born. I started writing the day we returned home.

Inspiration can take many forms. Sometimes it's a person. Sometimes it's a book I'm reading. Sometimes it's art (paintings, photography, mother nature). But more often than not, it's music. I listen to music almost every minute of the day and it speaks to me like nothing else in this world can. It brings life to my life.

Gus. It's a follow-up to Bright Side. When I started Bright Side I intended for it to be a standalone. But the deeper I got into the story, the more I fell in love with Gus. I think Gus deserves his own story. He's special.
