I'm doing the final rewrites for my next novel, Public Frenemy, which I hope to publish in September. It's a contemporary romance [natch!] about two people who both suffered public humiliations at the hands of former lovers, learning to trust enough to love again.
Following that work, I hope to publish the novel that resulted from my NaNoWriMo efforts last year - still a romance, but a bit of a departure for me, as it is also a bit of a suspense, and it's my first time writing in first person!

I'm not sure I can answer that definitively without causing a riot, Alexander! For me personally, I couldn't imagine writing a complicated fantasy or sci-fi novel. As a romance novelist, I know some people think it's easy to write, but it really isn't . . . in fact, I'd have to say that authoring a good, convincing story - regardless of the genre - is hard work. Some writers will have a natural affinity for one genre over another, but I'd never suggest to any that their aptitude makes it "easier"!
