Ruthie Henrick I'm so excited to hear you're excited about Blake and Sophie's story too, and I wish I could tell you when it will release. Watch my author page and my reader group, Ruthie's Hopeless Romantics, for updates and teasers. I post everything there first! And YES! Shane and Beth have something between them, don't they? There is definitely a story in the works for them :) Ruthie xoxo

Ruthie Henrick hmm. I really couldn't say. I love small town romances; they're probably my favorites, and there are some terrific authors out there who specialize in them. I guess I just wanted to see if I had it in me :)
Ruthie Henrick I've always loved to read, and periodically over the years a story idea would come to me and I'd start to write it out, but never got too far in, and never took it seriously. Then one day these characters that had been kicking around in my brain for a few weeks kidnapped me and chained me to my computer and wouldn't let me stop typing until their story was told. No, but really...yeah, that happened.
Ruthie Henrick Ha, the story that I really thought I'd have done by now is a small town contemporary romance. I'm having a lot of fun with these characters.
Ruthie Henrick My best advice is to write. Every day write something, even if it's a scenery description or a facial expression or a short piece of dialogue. And read. A lot! Pick apart what the author is doing with her writing that makes you like or dislike the story or the characters. Take workshops and do the homework. It's free critique from (generally) published authors and worth its weight in gold. Good luck :)
Ruthie Henrick Easy question, thanks! The absolute best thing is getting to talk to the readers, to hear what they liked—or didn't like—about my story and the characters.
Ruthie Henrick Hi there! The entire time I was writing Twice in a Lifetime I never encountered writer's block. That story just seemed to write itself. But the story I'm working on now has me stumped regularly. Generally I can work out a problem by taking a walk or a drive in the car, but my never fail place is the shower. I've had some really long showers because I get lost in my head and don't realize how much time has passed :)
