A few years ago, I heard about a company that had an entire cadre of workers devoted to finding solutions to their customers’ problems. They called this elite team solutionists. So, based on the biblical book of Nehemiah, I developed a series of Sunday morning series called just that – Solutionists. Abingdon Press has taken those sermons and transformed them into a chapter book and bible study called Solve: Finding God’s Solutions In A World Of Problems.

I am hard at work on an upcoming sermons series called Crash Test Dummies. It is based on the obscure Old Testament book of Judges. On more than one occasion, I have thought “I am the crash test dummy for even trying this!” Essentially, the series will address the question: “why do we keep doing the same dumb things over and over?”
