Ekta R. Garg I would want to go to the world of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time and become an Aes Sedai for the Blue Ajah.
Ekta R. Garg I try to keep my eyes and ears open for interesting stories in the news, online, from other people. You'll never know what will spark your imagination. To that end I read a LOT. Stephen King said once that a writer who doesn't have time to read doesn't have the time or tools to write, and I find that the more I read the better of a writer I'm becoming.
Ekta R. Garg I'm actually using a lot of the information I didn't include in Two for the Heart for the next book. When I write I don't always use all of the material in the final story, but sometimes there's extra story stuff that I don't want to get rid of. It stands to reason that readers might wonder about some of those details, so it only made sense to want to share those details with readers.
Ekta R. Garg I'm working on the second book in the "Stories in Pairs" series; this one is called More for the Heart and supplements the first book.
Ekta R. Garg I get to use anything as material in a story, which means I get to listen to people share tidbits of their lives. I'm really interested in other people and what they have to say, so it's fun to find that little spark that can turn into an idea.
Ekta R. Garg I keep writing. If I get stuck for ideas, I just write through them. Yes, the stuff I produce will probably be awful. I'll probably want to throw it out. But I can't let a dearth of ideas or inspiration keep me from writing. Writing is a lot like exercising; the more you work those muscles, the better shape they'll be in.
