I wanted to tell the story of Diesel and her early days before Eden and her romance with Elliot. GENESIS has romantic parts, but there are several challenges Diesel and Bain face. Diesel rises above the difficulties that plague her life. She builds an empire and creates a safe home with her determination and grit. Diesel is a dynamic character and I felt that readers should know what I know about her.

I find inspiration everywhere. Music. Art. People walking down the street. I ask myself a question, "What would happen if...?" and I usually end up with a story.

GENESIS, the prequel to DIESEL is in final edits right now. I'm also working on a new novella, FABULOUSLY TANKED (working title), for an anthology that will be out later this year. Lastly, the third book in the Reign Series, ANCHORED is in progress.

Keep writing. If the process doesn't feel right, try to find a way that is more comfortable. I started writing DIESEL and it felt all wrong. I changed the POV and the story flowed. Find a group of writers who support you and challenge you to be your best. Lastly, don't get caught on the one or two people who have less than positive feedback for your book. You are working toward a goal, keep at it!

Telling the stories. I meet dynamic characters in my mind and I can bring them to life on the page. I also love meeting and talking to readers.

First, I tell myself it will be okay (LOL!) and then I head outside for some fresh air. I love hiking and spending time in the woods. I'm also inspired by music and art.

If there is only one stop on this trip, I need to visit Hogwarts. If there are more destinations on my journey, I'm going to Narnia and then I'd spend an evening in the Night Circus.
