Tony Levy People I love to observe peoples behaviour and its their behaviour that I write about.
But the initial thing that made me write was a TV program that depicted prison staff as thugs and villains and brought the whole profession into an unbelievable world of disrepute.

At the time I was a Principal Officer in the UK prison service and was so enraged at the programs portrayal of how UK prison staff behaved that I was still raging the next morning at work, when one of my staff who had previously suffered many yarns about what really goes on in a prison from myself and other old timers in the service (I was in my early fifties but had seen over 20years service and was regarded as an old timer buy then), said
‘Tony you really should write a book about your experiences and tell the public what really goes on within the enclosed walls of a UK prison’
‘You know you’re absolutely right’
And that was my spark, but it took me several more years before actually completing the book.
Tony Levy Apart from the re-reads after editing of my own book El Dorado? No! Heathrow Airport, i havent really got any books on my reading list.
I live in Spain on the Costa Blanca so Summer lasts a long time and am always open to suggestions for books to read in the long warm evenings
Tony Levy Thankfully as my book A Turnkey or Not? is about actual events in my life i didn't really suffer from writers block. Once i started the memories just came flooding back and still do Its a very strange experience to be able to see your life and events over and over again yet know they really happened
Tony Levy Being asked to answer questions like this, its an amazing trip and luckily I have had my 'Andy Warhol' 15 minutes of fame and have loved the mad journey
Tony Levy Sit down and start. Then reread it and reread it and reread it etc
Everybody has their own style and you need to see what yours is Dont try to copy other people because it wont work it has to be your words as you form them.
Tony Levy A book about how people behave when confronted by modern security and a major Internation airport near London England.
It will be in three parts, how passengers behave, how staff behave towards passengers, and how management have to balance the security needs with the profit needs of their shareholders.
All based on the truth as I view it
Tony Levy As I state in my book it was a Linda LaPlant TV thriller set in a prison that was so bereft of facts that I was angered into wanting to tell the world the truth of what really goes on within a prison environment
Tony Levy From observing the people I work with. I love to watch how we react to certain situations and working at an airport brings out the best and worst in all of us. I think it will make interesting reading and some people may recognize themselves in the book
