Lisa Manifold I think my fave couple is Jamie and Claire. I have loved reading them as they have aged, and have gone through both good and bad. They've experienced a great deal of loss and they don't always rally immediately, but generally, they are in good places once the initial emotion has passed. And I love their relationship map - where they've been, where they want to go, and where they end up. Can you tell I'm experiencing a little Droughtlander?
Lisa Manifold I love the Grimm's Fairy Tales and the Tales of Hans Christian Anderson. Anderson did a much better job of giving details of the 'why' of his stories. The Grimm Brothers - not so much.

So this series is based on the story of The Twelve Dancing Princesses. When you read that tale, it's so spare. Even as a kid, I asked, Why?

Thea's Tale is the beginning of me trying to answer that.
Lisa Manifold I think about my WIP all the time. I do my best thinking in the shower. Anything to hang out in there for a little longer!

But I'll be thinking about it, and then get an idea I'm sure is brilliant. I have to run to my computer and try it out.
Lisa Manifold I am about to release Thea's Tale, which is the first book of the Sisters of the Curse series. When I was writing Thea, I kept coming back to Catrin, and wondering why she behaved the way she did.

So now, I am working on a novella titled One Night At The Ball, which goes into detail about Catrin. It's interesting. She began as a two dimensional character, and she's become so much more. She gets a novella, because she started this whole thing, and then, she gets a novel later that is from her point of view.

After that, I am getting into Book Two.
Lisa Manifold To make yourself write regularly. For me, that was every day until it became a habit. Now, I might take some time off to tend to other things, but writing is my career. So I write every day. But until I made daily writing a habit, I had to train myself to do it.
Lisa Manifold The ability to exercise your creativity. I find that the more I write, the more ideas I have. Because I am able to write full-time, I am able to get those ideas out of my head.

Whether they will ever make out into the light of day is something different entirely!
Lisa Manifold I put on my headphones, and turn the music up loud. Then I put aside the work that is giving me grief, and work on something else. I have a WIP that I had no idea I'd be doing because it has carried me through my times of being stuck on something else.
