M.M. Roethig Hey, my dear! I have been MIA for a while, haven't I?! I'm still working on the sequel to Raine, but my writing has taken a back seat to family life. My husband had open-heart surgery in March/April of last year, my daughter moved home and had a baby the beginning of July, (and they both both live with us now), and my mother was recently hospitalized. Oy! But, the new year is brining with it new commitment to write and I have a few projects I'm working on that I'm hoping will be ready for public consumption by the end of the summer/fall.

Thank you for asking! Keep reading and lots of love!
M.M. Roethig I'ts hard to write when your mind is at a stand still. When this happens, I usually put my work aside and try to numb my mind with some of my favorite television shows. Anything that helps me 'not think' helps to clear my mind. If that doesn't work I will go for a walk or jog. That usually gets the blood pumping through my brain again. But no matter what, I always start my writing session with a prayer.
M.M. Roethig The idea of Raine came to me one day when I was outside working in the yard. It had rained the night before and the fire pit was full of water. Pouring it out I wondered aloud how awesome it would be if I could control the water to empty itself out. Thus, Raine was born and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
M.M. Roethig Sometimes I hear a song that plays out like a movie in my head and an idea comes from there. Other times, I am working around the house and something hits me. And yet, an idea hounds me during the night. My ideas come from everywhere, anytime.
M.M. Roethig I started my current project at the beginning of the year, Dangerous Obsession. I put it away when I entered various writing contest and ended up with contracts to write more. Now that Raine has been submitted, I've picked it back up and am ready to get the story of Chloe and Eric out to the world.
M.M. Roethig Never give up. Writing is an emotional roller-coaster and at times you will want to quit. Don't! Take a break, put it away for the day, but never give up. The hardest part of writing a story is the first draft. Once that is done, the rest falls into place.
M.M. Roethig Seriously, is there anything better than living in a fantasy world? I love that I get to create things that others enjoy. There is nothing better.
