K.K. Allen Thank you for reading! I don’t know when but I would love to do a book for the rest of the band :) I’m currently working on another project but if you follow my Bookbub page you should be alerted of all my new releases.
K.K. Allen Hi Nicole! Up in the Treehouse was in part inspired by a scene I wrote in The Descendants, a YA Fantasy novel, where the main character spied her neighbors, two brothers, as they played in their Treehouse. I had been wanting to write a contemporary romance for some time and that scene triggered something for me. If you've read Up in the Treehouse you know there are many layers of plot, so the treehouse became the foundation for all "branches" of the story. I wanted to capture the innocence of love, the destruction of that innocence as we grow older, and how sometimes we are our own worst enemy.

Thank you for your question!
K.K. Allen Hi Deborah! I would love to see Up in the Treehouse on the big screen, absolutely! As I'm writing I'm always picturing the scene as if it were playing in front of me, and between the action and romance and drama, I think it would make a great film! I haven't given much thought to actors/actresses though. I'd love to hear from my readers to know what they think!
K.K. Allen Hi Gracie! It's different for every single book. For example, I was writing a backstory scene in The Descendants and there was a treehouse involved, brothers, and a neighbor girl who would sneak into their treehouse when they weren't around. That scene inspired the title for Up in the Treehouse, and then the story itself :) Since Under the Bleachers is continuing with the theme of Up in the Treehouse, I decided to play with the prepositions in the title, and then weave in the heart of the story, the bleachers. I love when readers want to read the book just to understand why the book was titled a certain way. So I try to have fun with it, but keep my readers guessing until they have that ah-ha moment.
K.K. Allen Yes :) Working on another trilogy. Same characters, different character POVs, and new characters mixed with some originals :) I'm excited! Hoping to release Supermoon early 2017. I'll post more info on my Facebook page and newsletter as soon as I'm ready to share! Thanks for checking out the series <3
K.K. Allen Hi Patrick! Thanks for the book suggestion. The train is currently visiting my editor :) My next novel should be released this summer. The title is Up in the Tree House and it's a Contemporary Romance. A bit different from the Summer Solstice Series and I'm excited to share it with everyone! Hawaii is beautiful. I wish I could visit more often.
K.K. Allen Lol. Yes! Everything I say can technically be turned into a quote. I should be careful ;)
K.K. Allen Perfect timing! It comes out today :) Print version is out now and the Kindle version will soon follow. Enjoy!
K.K. Allen I am writing Book two in The Summer Solstice series, The Descendants. I'm also working on Audiobook number two, for The Equinox!
K.K. Allen I don't believe in writer's block! Honestly, I believe when my writing isn't pouring out of me, or if I'm struggling with dialogue between characters, it has everything to do with me not understanding enough about my story or characters. Sometimes, all we need is another spark of an idea to get us going again, and this is where research helps me out. Research for me is anything from looking at photos for inspiration, or delving deeper into the backstory of my characters.
