S.A. Carter Hi Angela,
Thanks for your question. The Vaga are a group of supernatural hunters - mythical and magical - that are summoned to do the bidding of an ancient Dark Lord known as Erebus.
They are not real outside of my own imagination :).
S.A. Carter Writer's block, what a pain in the backside it is. I can only speak for myself but I've learnt that when I have writer's block it's usually because of two things:
1. I am trying to force the scene instead of letting it manifest on its own, or
2. I have written it wrong.
It might seem strange but for me this is the truth. When I can't seem to go any further it's because I've made the scene go in a certain direction rather than letting it flow and writing what I see in my head. When this happens I do one of two things: I try and force it to go further and it ends up even worse, or I delete it all and start again. While I hate to delete the work I've done I find that it is the only way to reignite my creativity and imagination. And it works every time.
I am a big believer in letting your creativity flow and getting out of the way of it. We are usually the cause of our own blockages, so when this happens I suggest walking away for a breather, centre yourself again, and start over.
S.A. Carter Thank you so much for taking the time to read The Kuthun and for leaving a great review, Charlotte. I am so glad you enjoyed it, and your comments for the next book were on point :).
The Vaga will be coming out early September and if you sign up to my newsletter on www.sa-carter.com you'll be the first to know. I will also be offering the free novella The Weaver - Isabella Cole in Salem - to all my website sign ups which will be released soon.
Have a great day!
S.A. Carter I think most authors will tell you that the inspiration comes in many different ways and there is no plan for it when it does.
For me, my inspiration comes in my dreams and visions. I see the story play out as a movie and from there I need to get what I see onto the paper. Then I just get out of the way, meaning that I let the creativity flow rather than assume I can control it.
I think trusting your imagination is key.
S.A. Carter I am currently writing the next novel in The Kuthun series - The Vaga. I am very excited about writing this novel and can't wait to find out what happens to Elena next.
