Right now I am writing A Blessing to Cherish. It is the final book in the Blessing novels. The last Blessing novel was From This Day Forward.

Hi Lauraine!! I LOVE your books sooo much!!! You are my most favourite author EVER!! I have LOVED your Golden Filly series (I have the whole series!!) I also love your Red River series (also have the whole series!) and I just finished reading “One Perfect Day.” I have a book blog and reccomend all of your books on it! Okay, so my question is, will you be making another book on the Golden Filly series?
Lauraine Snelling I am glad you like Golden Filly! You are the second person this week to ask about more Golden Filly stories. I am sorry to say that I do not think I will return to writing about Trish. As I am currently writing the final book in my 21 book series about Blessing, ND, I have had to accept that I cannot keep writing a character’s entire life. I do try to capture important moments in it though. Also, have you read my High Hurdles Books? Most people who liked Golden Filly enjoy High Hurdles.

I am one of your 'new' readers... and am confused. I've been trying to find a list of your books and the order they should be read. I obviously didn't start where I should have... and would like to recommend them to my Aunt, but I don't know where I should tell her to start. I'd also like to start from the beginning and catch up to where I am now. (All I could find is a publication order, but that is not helping.) ?
Lauraine Snelling Are you reading the Blessing/Red River books? There are 5 different series in what are now known as the Blessing books. Those series, in order, go Red River of the North, Return to Red River, Daughters of Blessing, Home to Blessing and Song of Blessing. There is also a prequel that was published after most of the series called An Untamed Heart. I recommend reading that one first, though by publishing dates it is almost last.

There are also several unrelated series: Wild West Wind, Dakota Treasures and A secret Refuge.

My contemporary books are all stand alone novels and are not in any series.

Do you have books , Back to Red river of the north?
Lauraine Snelling I am not sure what you are asking. If you are asking I physically have the books, I do and they are available for sale on my web site Laurainesnelling.com. If you are asking if there is a series called "Back to Red River of the North" there is not but there is one called "Return to Red River." Following that series there are three other Blessing series: Daughters of Blessing, Home to Blessing and Song of Blessing.

Hi Lauraine, I LOVE your books. We all seek and find God in different places, and for me, He's always closest when I read, especially your novels. My question is about Mr. Sam's family. Lemuel and Lily Mae are getting older now, and their situation in Blessing is unique. Do you have any plans to tell their stories? Considering your theme of inclusion, I'd love to see what direction their lives take.
Lauraine Snelling That is a good question and a good idea. At this time, I have no immediate plans for any further Blessing stories. I am currently immersed in a new series set in the Black Duck area of Minnesota. I am writing the final chapters of the first novel with two more to go. I have not made a firm decision on whether there will be more Blessing novels. It partially depends on the publishers and partially on whether the right stories come to me.

Greetings dear lady. At the book club I facilitate we read one your books a a while back. (Blessing series). One lady was telling her husband about some of the situations the characters encountered. Next he had her reading those parts to him. Before she knew it, she was reading the book to him. Retired now, he's gone back to beginning (Red River of the North series) and plans to read the series. Encouraging?
Lauraine Snelling That is Great! I love to hear that my books get passed along. I keep my own shelves of other authors books here that i read and then pass to the next. However, if he wants to start from the beginning, do not forget "An Untamed Heart." The Blessing Prequel may not have been written until a few years ago but does take place before Ingeborg leaves for Norway and the events of "Red River of the North".

I so enjoy your historical novels. Thank you for many hours of enjoyment as your books transport me from where I am to the growing and bustling lives of the people of Blessings. I especially love the way you let the Lord speak to and through your characters ,and in turn to my life. Ingeborg is my favorite character . When did you start to write?
Lauraine Snelling I knew that I wanted to be a writer when I was in High School. My dream was to write horse books for children. But then life got in the way. There was marriage and children and... and... My children were in high school themselves when I attended a writers conference and my dream started to take life again. With others from the conference, I started a critique group which encouraged me to write often and better. My first novel, "The Tragedy on the Toutle," now published under the title "What about Cimmaron," came was published in 1982.

Hi. I am really looking forward to the new Blessing book coming out later this year. Also, the new historical series you're working on sounds brilliant. However, will this year's book be the last we see of all the characters in Blessing? I'm really hoping not, because we've all come to know and love them so much. Thank you for keeping us so well entetained.
Lauraine Snelling At this point, I honestly am not sure if there will be more Blessing books. I keep telling people that I have to see if the stories come to me. Right now I am excited to start exploring this new series and new characters... But I must say, I had more fun writing the last book than I have had in a long time. I absolutely loved going back to Blessing for "From this Day Forward."

I have just started writing my newest historical series. In fact, I am only a few pages into the first manuscript. At this point, we do not even have a name for the series yet! However, I can give you a few hints... The books are set in the Blackduck area of Minnesota in the early 1900's and features a new family of Norwegian immigrants. Readers familiar with Blessing may recognize the family as descendants of Ingeborg's childhood friend, Gunlaug, but this is not a Blessing series. I suppose you could say that it runs parallel to Blessing books but is in fact a new series with new characters set in a new area. Blessings, Lauraine

Lauraine Snelling Thank you for writing! I usually recommend reading An Untamed Heart First. Though it was only published a few years ago, it is set prior to the events in An Untamed land. I loved the chance to go backwards and explore young Ingeborg's life and the events that led her to America. I hope you enjoy it too!

I don't have a question, but I am reading "A Promise for Ellie" right now. This makes me really happy and excited to hear about a new novel that you are writing. I am very thankful to the good Lord above for healing you. I have been in some car accidents over the years. I know how frightening they can be. Getting over the hurdles afterwards takes time. What would we do without the Great Physician to heal us?

Lauraine Snelling I have recovered thank you. Immediately following my recovery from the car accident, I had knee replacement surgery which I am also recovering from well. Thank you for the encouragement. I have a contemporary novel, The Second Half, coming out in July and the newest Blessing novel will be out in September. I hope you enjoy!

Lauraine Snelling First let me apologize for the delay in answering. I have been recovering from a car accident and then knee surgery so I got behind. Its time to play catch up. I do not have any young adult books like Golden Filly coming out soon. I am currently publishing 2-3 adult novels a year. My very first novel was a young adult book about a girl and her horse during the Mt St Helens volcano eruption, now published under the name "What about Cimmeron." If you liked Golden Filly, have you read my High Hurdles collection? Like Golden Filly, it is now published in 2 collections.
