Carly Compass I find what puzzles me most about the world around me is, man's inhumanity to man. I have struggled with reasons why people are so mean and cruel to each others at times and I wanted to get that out there for people to read for a number of reasons, one so people know that they are not alone in their life struggle and two so that maybe they might realize that that person they just met might be carrying a huge amount of luggage from their life experience. In the end my hope is that people become more tolerant of each other and less quick to stand in judgement.
Carly Compass I have always been a story teller. I have always enjoyed retelling a story or helping someone get in touch with their feeling to write a college entry essay, a note to a friend or speeches for weddings and eulogies. It is just now that I was able to get my thoughts down on paper to share with the world.
Carly Compass After just releasing my Electric Series, Books 1, 2 and 3, I am working on the final book! I am going in a new and exciting direction, the genre of the paranormal! So it will be quite an adventure to write.
Carly Compass My advice for aspiring writers is to just do it. Ignore all the negative voices that say no and get on with it. Don't worry if the first draft is good. Just write it, there will be time to fix it later.
Carly Compass The best thing I have discovered so far is when someone reads your work and not only accepts it, but loves it! I am so lucky to have experienced that in these first few weeks after my books have gone live!
Carly Compass I have not experienced writer's block thus far I think because, I have been resisting the urge to become a writer so long that it is like mount St.Helen erupting with ideas now that I am in the groove. I would suggest that if you are experiencing writer's block, step away, step outside and go do something you enjoy until the inspiration hits you! Never try to force yourself. There are times though, that I think you could just start writing whatever you are thinking and then the ideas will come from that too.
Carly Compass As a person, the most difficult challenge was to get past the voice that kept telling me, no one would be interested in what I have to say. As an author, I couldn't fight the urge to press forward despite the negative voices in my head. Now it is out there and out of my head and I am free to pursue other stories. Thank you Devika Fernando for you interest.
Carly Compass This story haunted me for years. Every time I tried to write something else I kept coming back to it. So I finally finished it and got it out of my head. Thanks for your interest Graham Watkins.
