E.L. Irwin Missing clothing. Not even kidding. At times, I'd swear someone was stealing my clothes! Like, a shirt would go missing. Then a pair of socks. I know, WHY socks. One part of my brain was thinking, "Oh, this could play into your Guardian series. Where maybe a demon is stealing the clothing to toy with and stalk his prey..."
Hmm, the possibilities...
E.L. Irwin Oh gosh, it’s going to be a toss up between Middle Earth, Prythian, and Erilea. Thanks for the question!
E.L. Irwin *waves* thanks for asking. Currently, when I can get the time in, I’m working on a contemporary novel called, Long Live the Rebel. There’s a military undertone with this one. My main characters are AJ and Ryler. She’s a published author and he’s an Army Ranger.
And then I’m working on the sequel to Between Earth and Eden, called, Between Heaven and Hell. This is my fantasy duology.
E.L. Irwin The story ended. And my coffee was gone.
E.L. Irwin Hi Jeff! *waves*
Yes, I am working, sort of, on a western themed novel. At this stage it's more of a fun project than it is serious work. And while this is a western, complete with gunslingers, cattle drives, and is set in the Old West, it's not your typical western novel. You can expect to hear some echoes from my favorite western author, Louis L'Amour, though. It was my dad who got me interested in the Old West. I devoured his collection of L'Amour novels when I was young. Thanks, Jeff, for the awesome question!
E.L. Irwin I feel like my reading has been slower this year...I just finished Flame in the Mist, by Renee Ahdieh, and I LOVED IT! Cannot wait for the next one. Right now I'm trying to decide between reading Caravel, Neverfade, Rogue, or just rereading the Throne of Glass series (again) in preparation for Tower of Dawn coming out this September.
Happy reading, Everyone!!
E.L. Irwin Oh gosh, I have two: that's a lie, there are many more than two, but I'll share my top two: Aelin and Rowan from the ToG series, and Feyre and Rhysand from the ACOTAR series. Thanks for asking!
E.L. Irwin So far, thankfully, I haven't experienced that yet. I listen to music when I write. Music feeds my mind, keeps me going, blocks out the rest of the world and allows me to focus. And coffee. LOTS of coffee. :-)
E.L. Irwin Sometimes when I read a book, I'll hate the ending and in my mind I will rewrite it to my satisfaction. lol. Being the writer give me that automatic option. I love being able to create worlds and peoples and places. I love sharing a bit of myself with the reader in that way.
E.L. Irwin Read. And read some more. And read a lot. And don't give up. Keep writing. Keep submitting. Take all feedback, negative and positive, with a grain of salt, see if there's any truth and value in what's been said and apply it.
E.L. Irwin I'm working on two books right now. The first is Between Earth and Eden. It's a NA fantasy romance about demons and angels and mortals. The main characters are Jane, Theron and Aurek.
And I'm converting a short story I wrote this last summer into a full length novel. It's called The Lost and The Found. I'm working on this one for NaNoWriMo. This one is also a NA romance, about a girl who is broken, she's been shattered, but finds the will and desire to live again. My characters are Crimson and Josiah.
E.L. Irwin I read. A lot. I devour books. And I'm the kind of person who, if I like and enjoy a book, it becomes an old friend -- I can read it over and over again -- and never get tired of it.
E.L. Irwin I used an experience I had to write the scene where Asher and Kate meet. Her line to him, about "Ladies' first" and "You go ahead" just kept playing through my head. I loved her sarcasm and wit and his determination. Pretty much everything else came from that one scene.
