Cara C. Putman Dying for Love is a prequel — It’s Ciara’s story. You would have met her in Beyond Justice. Hidden Love is a true standalone. Thanks for reading my books!
Cara C. Putman Pat, did you win it through a Goodreads giveaway? I can definitely check with the publisher about that but I know some people started getting those copies this week. Let me know and I'll help you track it down.
Cara C. Putman What a great question! I have Lisa Wingate's latest Before We Were Yours, because I adore her lyrical writing, Kristy Cambron's The Illusionist's Apprentice, Joel Rosenberg's The First Hostage since Beyond Justice was compared to his books by the Library Journal, and Susan Meissner's A Bridge Across the Ocean. There are so many others, but these are the books I definitely want to read for me.
Cara C. Putman Jencey, I'm not sure why I'm just now seeing your question. Sorry about that! But there won't be more unless I write them for me. There are supposed to be three, and I would love to write the second two books, but just have to find the time. One would be set in France and another in Germany.
Cara C. Putman Joan, that's a great question. I had to give up a few things. I watch one TV show a year. I cut back on sleep some when I'm on deadline. But, I want to write...and so, I make the sacrifices.
Cara C. Putman Becky, I started out as a young teen. Then Christian fiction was very small, and my favorite authors simply didn't write fast enough for this voracious reader. So I started writing two novels that will never see the light of day! But that desire to write never disappeared. Then in my early thirties God gave me the green light to start writing. It's been a whirlwind ever since. Thanks for asking!
Cara C. Putman Join ACFW (www.acfw.com) especially if you want to write Christian fiction. Not only will you learn the tools of the trade, but you'll meet lots of people with a passion to write, too. And if you join a chapter or attend the national conference, you'll get to network with editors and agents, so critical right now if you want to take the traditionally published route.
Cara C. Putman Stars in the Night is one of my favorites because it combines the glamour of 1940s Hollywood with some great suspense during 1942. Shadowed by Grace takes you on a tour of Italy with the Monuments Men and a woman photographer who's on a hunt for her father. Either would be a great place to start! Thanks for asking.
Cara C. Putman I'm currently working on a legal suspense. Stay tuned!
Cara C. Putman I often get inspired by a historical event for my WWII novels. I'll stumble across an event or detail (like the Monuments Men) and I'll want to learn more. That then leads to more research, and I might talk to a few people about it. If they're intrigued, I start building characters and plot around that historical framework.
