Sejal Badani Thank you so much Devialini! I really appreciate you reading both books and for your kind words! I end up grilling my mom about the customs and rituals to make sure I get them right - it's so good to hear they resonate and are correct! :) Thank you again for reaching out. :)
Sejal Badani Hi Katie, First - thank you so much for reading the book!! I really appreciate it! To answer your question - yes definitely! :) There are many times where my husband or children will freak out because they see me at my computer with tears coursing down my cheeks. Even now when I pick up Storyteller's Secret and glance at the ending I have to stop myself from crying. :) Thank you so much again for reaching out and for reading the books. Take care. Sejal
Sejal Badani The Storyteller’s Secret was inspired by my maternal grandmother who died tragically in post-British India.
Sejal Badani I wait for an idea to come to me. Sometimes it’s from my own life. For example, Trail of Broken Wings was inspired by my own story of being raised in domestic violence and Storyteller’s sprung from my grandmother’s tragic death. Other times the idea comes from nowhere and then I have to spend days flushing it out! :)
Sejal Badani My second novel The Storyteller’s Secret was just released so most of the time is spent on publicity for the novel. Otherwise, I’m busy on a book about a group of friends who come together to say goodbye to one of them.
Sejal Badani Keep writing, reading and don’t give up. And believe. :)
Sejal Badani Doing what I love. I have always wanted to be a writer. As a kid I would compose stories in my head while in school (which wasn’t great for getting the grades). I am so grateful to the readers for reading the stories.
Sejal Badani I try to work on at least two projects at the same time so if I hit a block with one I move onto the next one.
