Jeffrey Eaton T. Blake: Thanks! In some instances, I travel to the cities covered in the books and conduct research in person. That happened with "Murder Becomes Miami" in particular and traveling there unearthed a creepy cemetery, a spectacular mansion and a prominent statue that all ended up appearing in the book (the statue talks to architect/detective Dalton Lee, by the way).

For my other two books, "Murder Becomes Manhattan" and "Murder Becomes Mayfair," I rely on a lot of online guides and sources. Most important, I think, is I always do extensive searches both on 'prominent architecture in' and 'creepy places in.' That led me to the Greenwich Foot Tunnel underneath the Thames, which is the site for a very creepy rendevous, and the architecture of St. John the Divine in New York City, where the victim's memorial service takes place.

I am a journalist by training and in profession and I apply those skills extensively in researching the books. I believe you and my other readers deserve nothing less! Thanks for asking. murderbecomes.com

Jeffrey Eaton I would have to say The Hardy Boys! They shared a love of adventure and mystery yet had very distinct personalities. Each brought his own skills to the detecting game but together they were better than either one by himself!
Jeffrey Eaton Going to the gym to lift weights or run on the track often brings unique solutions into my view, for some reason. Oddly enough, many also come to me when I am taking a shower.
Jeffrey Eaton Push oneself to go AGAINST or BEYOND one's first impulse. Meaning, our first impulses are often the most pat. Truly interesting mystery writing, I believe, makes the reader subtly believe they know what is about to happen, then takes the story in a sudden, unexpected turn.
Jeffrey Eaton The next book in the series will be "Murder Becomes Miami," set among the glorious Deco architecture of South Beach. A renowned college football coach is acquitted of killing his wife and her lover but then HE turns up murdered shortly afterward...by The Organization. How he was connected to their plans for world domination, and how The Lee Group discovers who was behind the murder, form the plot for this novel.
Jeffrey Eaton I have always been intrigued by mysteries and urban architecture. So merging the two topics seemed natural to me. And since architecture is so visual, I wanted those reading the eBook versions of the "Murder Becomes" series to really see the locations it describes. It just seemed natural to take the linking concept one step further and show readers what some of the people in the book are wearing, the murder scenes, etc.
