Michael A. Elliott (B.A., Amherst, 1992; Ph.D., Columbia, 1998) is the Winship Distinguished Research Professor in English and American Studies, Department of English, Emory College of Arts and Sciences.
He specializes in the literature and culture of the United States from the mid-nineteenth to early twentieth century, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches to American cultures and the place of Native Americans in the United States.
Elliott is a member of the editorial board of the Norton Anthology of American Literature.
