“There shall be
Eternal summer in the grateful heart.”
Celia Thaxter

“Who shall compass or fathom God's thought profound?
We can but praise, for we may not understand;
But there's no more beautiful riddle the whole world round
Than is hid in this heap of dust I hold in my hand.”
Celia Thaxter, An Island Garden

“When was has vanished, nature strives to restore her original order of things, and she smooths away gradually all traces of his work with the broad hands of her changing seasons.”
Celia Thaxter, An Island Garden
