Eva’s Byte #395 – Getting a Leg Up
The bridge between Thanksgiving and Christmas has a short time span. In my opinion, both deserve to shine for the light these holiday celebrations shed on gratitude and extending good will.
Nevertheless, in my attempt to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and rekindle bygone memories, I’ll be getting a leg up early in the season.
For starters, listening to “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole. It reminds me of my thirteenth Christmas when I awoke to this song my dad had set in motion on a stereophonic record player under the tree.
Since several trees of various themes and assorted sizes abound in my home all year round, I’ll create Christmas coziness by decking the surfaces with holiday runners and scarves. Then, I’ll situate my Santas, reindeer, and snowmen. As for filling my living space with fragrance, I’ll be plugging in the scent of ripe cranberry and currants.
Watching Christmas-themed movies is a must. Topping my list are the classics, It’s a Wonderful Life and Christmas in Connecticut.
In my capacity of a writer, I’ve gotten a leg up on Christmas through drafting chapter 23 of my Contemporary work in progress (1114 words thus far). Par for the course—it won’t be the happiest season of all for my characters.
*May each of us create our own comfort zone during the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
My sincere appreciation to you for reading this far.
