Dr. Rajendra Prasad Singh (R. P. Singh) has a career spanning approximately 40 years and has served in the power sector in the fields of generation, transmission, large system operation and distribution. He was the Chairman and Managing Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for more than 11 years. He has served in NTPC Limited and Tata Iron & Steel Company as well. He also serves as a consultant to the World Bank. He was also the Executive Vice Chairman of Jindal Power Limited (JPL). As the Executive Vice Chairman of JPL, he was responsible for the overall management of the Company.

“बौद्ध साहित्य से वैपुल्यवाद या महायान का विकास हुआ, महायान में मंत्रयान, मंत्रयान से वज्रयान या तांत्रिक बौद्ध धर्म में परिणत हुआ। इसी वज्रयान की प्रक्रिया में नाथ संप्रदाय का विकास हुआ और नाथ संप्रदाय के प्रेरणामूलक तत्वों को ग्रहण कर संत संप्रदाय अवतरित हुआ। यह देखा जा सकता है कि इस विकास की प्रक्रिया में बौद्ध धर्म से लेकर नाथ संप्रदाय तक जो - जो जीवन के तत्व मनोभावों के धरातल पर उभर सके उन सबका समाहार संत संप्रदाय में हुआ। बौद्ध धर्म के शून्यवाद से लेकर नाथ संप्रदाय के योग तक तथा वज्रयान के सिद्धों की 'संधा भाषा' की उलटबाँसियों से लेकर नाथ संप्रदाय की अवधूत भावना तक संतकाव्य में सभी विचार-सरणियाँ पोषित हो सकीं।”
