“Il n'y a pas un seul écrivain célèbre qu'on puisse comparer par son envergure à une vingtaine de ceux qui écrivirent dans la société libre d'entre les deux guerres, ou à une douzaine de ceux qui sont actuellement en exil. L'explication est simple et logique: l'âme roumaine, profondément enracinée dans le génie national, trouve son plus bel épanouissement dans une atmosphère de liberté. Le cas de Petru Dimitriu nous le démontre d'une façon saisissante.
