El Rev. Padre Álvaro Martín Calderón nació el 22 de octubre de 1956, en Mendoza (Argentina).
Ingresó al Seminario de La Reja y fue ordenado Sacerdote en 1986. Estuvo por un año como vicario del Priorato de Zapotiltic, México, y un año como vicario del Priorato de Ciudad de México. Fue entonces nombrado profesor en el Seminario, hace más de 25 años.
Ha escrito en ese período varios libros, siendo los más recientes:
La Lámpara bajo el Celemín (2009)
Prometeo (2010)
Umbrales de la Filosofía (2011)
Ejerce la función de subdirector y prefecto de salud, además de impartir las clases de:
Teología: TEOLOGÍA DOGMÁTICA I.
Filosofía: METAFÍSICA, FILOSOFÍA DE LA NATURALEZA, LÓGICA.
Humanidades: TEOLOGÍA DE LA NATURALEZA.
