“Not only have we not done the good things that God really wants us to do, but in fact, we’ve done just the opposite. We’ve all done a lot of sinful things that we’re not very proud of. The good news is that, before we even ask to be forgiven– before we even know we’ve done wrong, sometimes– God has this miraculous, saving love for us.”
Erin O'Riordan, Cut

“In art and mythology, the Goddess appears in three forms. White represents the virgin, red the mother, and black, the crone, or the death-goddess.”
Erin O'Riordan, Cut

“The point is that if we accept nature as God’s creation, then it’s ridiculous to think that God could be a male without a female. Asexual, yes. But not a male. It goes against our entire experience of life on Planet Earth. That is, if you think that God would’ve created nature in Her own image.”
Erin O'Riordan, Cut

“Explain! Tell a man to explain how he dropped into hell! Explain my preference! I never had a preference for her, any more than I have a preference for breathing. No other woman exists by the side of her. I would rather touch her hand if it were dead, than I would touch any other woman's living.”
George Eliot, Middlemarch

“I never had any preference for her, any more than I have a preference for breathing.”
George Eliot, Middlemarch

“But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."

(Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven)”
W.B. Yeats, The Wind Among the Reeds

“All human wisdom is contained in these two words - Wait and Hope”
Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo

“These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume. The sweetest honey
Is loathsome in his own deliciousness
And in the taste confounds the appetite.
Therefore love moderately; long love doth so;
Too swift arrives as tardy as too slow.”
William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

Both, I think. I can't help incorporating some personal experiences. But some of it is pure imagination. (Especially the ones with werewolves and robots.)

David Lucero I'm curious. When writing erotica, does the author utilize personal experiences, or write from pure fantasy?

I ask because I wrote a love scene between characters in my book 'Who's Minding the Store?' They thought I was writing about my wife and I. The answer was no. It was pure fantasy. I don't think I could put down on paper a love scene with someone so personal in my life. Just seemed weird.

I'm asking because your bio states you write erotica in multiple genres. No disrespect intended. I get questions like, how do you come up with stories all the time.
