Bernard Sternsher was an historian specializing in the era of the Great Depression and the New Deal. A graduate of the University of Alabama, he received his masters and doctorate degrees from Boston University, Over the course of his career, he taught at Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Seton Hall University, and Rutgers University, before ending his career as professor of history at Bowling Green State University.
