Y. R. Liu spent much of her childhood following her academic parents from city to city, growing up in various university libraries and computer labs. Throughout that time, the chief constants in her life were an overabundance of books, imagination, and unsupervised access to a word processor. As she grew, a love of stories and writing continued to be a constant source of comfort and joy, seeing her through a B.A.&Sc. in Cogntive Science and a M.CS. in Human Computer Interaction. While she enjoys a good story of any genre, her especial favorite has always been fantasy, particularly fantasy outside of the typical sword and sorcery.
