Thomas H. Greer



Thomas Greer earned his A.B. (1935), M.A. (1936), and Ph.D. (1938) from the University of California. He came to Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) in 1947, as an assistant professor of History and Civilization (1947-1951). He became an Associate Professor of Humanities in 1951 and a full Professor of Humanities in 1956. Greer also served as chairman of the Department of Humanities from 1963-1968. He was a recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award, 1960. He authored many books, including American Social Reform Movements: Their Pattern since 1865 and The Development of the American Doctrine of Air Power, as well as a biography of Franklin D.
