Ivo Pala lebt in Berlin. Er verfasst seit etwa 20 Jahren Drehbücher sowohl für Filme als auch für TV-Serien (Der Clown, Der Staatsanwalt, Die Großstadt-Sheriffs, Julia – Kämpfe für deine Träume!).

Pala wurde in Eltville am Rhein geboren wuchs in Oestrich-Winkel im Rheingau auf. Nach eigenen Angaben war er als Kind bereits ein Leser von Grimms Märchen, Karl May, Jules Verne, den Tarzan-Romanen von Edgar Rice Burroughs und Detektivgeschichten über Sherlock Holmes, Miss Marple und Hercule Poirot. Er absolvierte eine Ausbildung in der Hotelerie, studierte danach Volkswirtschaftslehre und war anschließend in leitenden Positionen im Vertrieb und Marketing von IT- und Telekommunikationsunternehmen tätig.
