Joel Nedecky is a high school teacher and writer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has always loved stories, yet most of his childhood was spent playing hockey. It was not until university that he discovered a passion for all types of fiction. His short stories have appeared in Hoosier Noir 6 and 7, Dark Waters Vol. 2, and online with Punk Noir, Guilty Crime Story Magazine, Shotgun Honey, Pistol Jim Press, Close to the Bone, The Yard Crime Blog, and Urban Pigs Press. The Broken Detective is his first novel.
