Lars Görling, born Aug 23 1931 in Stockholm, Sweden, was a writer and director. An odd figure among artists, students and bohemians in the early 60's in Stockholm. His father was a prominent jazz musician. Lars left home early, lived in community homes and identified with troubled youth. In 1961 he published his first novel, "Triptyk". Already one year later came his breakthrough with "491". A socially critical novel and harsh study of forgiveness and oppression. A world he knew far too well. Ingmar Bergman was deeply touched by the story and involved director Vilgot Sjöman in a possible film project.
