that is one reason I mentioned that ferret rescue. No one donates to or supports her work because most people are not even aware of ferrets at all. We have a real problem in the U.S. with the ferret trade. Lots of unscrupulous breeders and the end result is ferrets with loads of health problems. Plus, most Americans treat every pet like a cat, thinking all they have to do is feed and shelter the beast, when in reality of course all animals are different and have differing needs. People get ferrets, then realize they require a bit of maintenance, and then abandon them. Vondell has HUNDREDS of thrown-away ferrets. It is sad. So, i'm trying to spread the word, help raise awareness. I have had as many as 9 ferrets at a time, all of them rescue cases & they are delightful little creatures, like eternal kittens.
