Closing up shop for a while

I’ve been receiving some inquiries about my lack of presence on social media, so I wanted first of all to thank you for your concern and second of all, to let everyone know that I will be closing up shop for a while.

I have two significant things in production from which I cannot desist at this point–a talk I am doing in St. Louis in October, and, of course, Lucien’s book, which is releasing September 12! Don’t worry–it was sent into production (edits etc) months ago and will still be releasing as scheduled.

But I am otherwise on leave from writing/publishing and plan to remain so for the next year. This is why I may or may not manage to get review copies out for A KISS IN LAVENDER, although I thank everyone for your interest. I do appreciate it hugely, and please do not feel ignored. It really is me not you! And I will still try but I do not promise.

I have been working from four in the morning until ten at night most days since The Chocolate Thief came out, with the only interruptions to my regular daily routine being going out to exercise and family care, and it is time for an extended break. I think my entire soul is covered in Post-It notes, and it just needs to get uncovered. I’m not able to write anymore with that much clutter cutting off the creative air, if you know what I mean.

I hope I will be back stronger and fresher in a year or so, and in the meanwhile, I hope you will love Lucien’s book! It’s all up on Amazon, Apple, etc, and ready to download on September 12, so you do not at all have to worry that it will not come out because of this.

Thanks so much to all of you for all the support and enthusiasm these past five years. (And from some of you even longer, since way back when Blame It on Paris came out!) It has been a wonder and a joy, and I am thankful for every bit of it.

Danielle A Laura, I'm a huge fan of your work so I will miss your presence and writing updates until you're back. I hope your writing hiatus goes well and you come back better than ever :) Best wishes!

Daniela Vianna I noticied the lack of apperance around here, and was pleasantly surprised when Lucien's book was announced, I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm sad to hear that you're feeling burned out but am glad to hear you are doing something about it. I hope your sabbatical turns out incredible and that you can find happiness and joy in life and get inspired to create again.

Best of wishes to you
