Alan Lightman's Blithering Blog

Hello Goodreads Community.

This is the first posting on my first blog. The occasion of starting this blog is the publication of my new novel,
THREE FLAMES.Three Flames
This book is dear to my heart, as it comes out of 30 trips to Cambodia over a 15 year period and listening to the stories of people and a culture that was devastated by the Khmer Rouge army in the mid 1970s. I am particularly impressed by the strength and resilience of the girls and women in that country in a highly male chauvinistic culture.

Mohammed Morsi Dear Alan, I lived in Cambodia, primarily Phnom Penh. In 2006 when I worked as a photographer and journalist. I look forward to your book Three Flames. I wrote extensively on the forgiveness of women whose men had given them HIV virus - and it was honestly life changing for me, the courage of the women to be able to dream about love - when they had been ushered their death sentence by the man who was allegedly supposed to love them.
Salaam Morsi
