It's been a long time

I know, years since I posted here but life got in the way of everything else, including writing.

To be honest, I took a job to help out family members who were struggling. At first the job was the normal 40 hours a week deal, but that quickly changed. I went from 40 hours to 60 and more. I actually worked at this place 21 days straight with not a single day off. And it was very physical, so it left me really tired at the end of the day.

Fast forward to quitting that job, thinking I'd found something good, or at least better.

It lasted a year and during that year every single day became a little worse until I was told I would get written up for not calling out at least 2 hours before my shift.

The punchline there was that I fell on the stairs while getting ready to go out the door. So how could I call them 'in advance' when it was on the way out the door to go to work when I fell?

I've got a different job and I like it. No more long hours which means I'm back to writing again.

My current issue is I have over 60 books that lost their publishers and have to get new covers and formatting etc before they can be rereleased.

Do the math: 60 covers with each cover averaging $100 to $500+ equals a heck of a lot of money.

So, while I'm trying to get stuff back out, it's going to be a long haul.

And that doesn't even include books that I'd finished but which never got published because my publishers went under before they were even issued.

So there you have it.

MariF Wonderful to hear from you. I bought a lot of your books, mostly from Shadowfire, and I'm happy that one of the first authors I ever read in mm genre is back.
Best of luck, and please make your books available wide.

Michael Barnette I will be putting them out through a distributor, but they likely won't be on Amazon. They drove all my publishers--including Shadowfire Press--out of business and it really hurt and disturbed me that one place could do that.

MariF My good friend calls them Big Kraken. I used to be more charitable toward Amazon until this year. I do mind that they don't release files you actually purchase, not borrow. I prefer using my Voice Dream app and for that I need an epub or text format. I don't like them holding my books hostage, so I'm buying elsewhere now but Amazon with a rare exception for charity anthologies.
I'm looking forward to your new works.

Michael Barnette My main issue now is cover art. I've discovered that I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 or so books and all of them have to have new cover art. The cost is...mind numbing.
