Happy New Year 2025!

Tucker Blood by Raeann BlakeIt’s been a while since I’ve updated this little blog. I try to keep up, but it often gets pushed to the back burner. But the new year is here – 2024 is gone (good riddance!) and 2025 is upon us. I’m hopeful this year will be filled with the most laughter, love, and blessings we’ve ever experienced.

The past year was not an easy one. My better half underwent two surgeries, and I broke (or rather, re-broke) my ankle, requiring surgery, 8 weeks in a cast and boot, and 8 weeks of rehab. On the bright side, I was still able to release Kansas in Montana as planned, and I opened an online store, Raeann Blake Studios, which now has over 2,000 items. Creating all those designs was a sanity-saver during a challenging time.

I also learned that oxycodone and I do not get along – it took my long-standing panic and anxiety attacks to a whole new, unpleasant level. As for my ankle, I really went to town on the previous hardware, stripping screws and bending the plate. The doctors had to put in two new plates and 14 screws to put me back together. Thankfully, I had a second surgery on January 2nd to remove 4 of those screws, and I can finally walk without pain for the first time since last Memorial Day. And the lungs are still going strong (thank you to my donor).

Now it’s on to 2025! My newest book, Tucker Blood, is with the editor, and I’m aiming for a spring release. And no more hospital bingo for me this year – my card is full!

Happy New Year, and happy reading! ~ Raeann Blake

Rhea Morrigan Hi, Raeann! Can't wait for Tucker Blood! And keep your arse out of the hospital! Your other half - hmm... don't know if he's better - can he write like you? No? Nope. He's not better ;) Well, he needs to stay out of the hospital too. I hear ya on the oxy - it makes me puke. If I ever need bas-ass pain relievers, I'm screwed. I can't take any of that stuff.
