OMG I LOVE my bad guy. He is just so bad, but I think him believable.
How did I come up with him? Humm. I used to work for some years as a nurse in the jail system in Australia (spelled gaol here). Let me just say, I have worked with some bad people and heard some bad stories.
All my work and life experiences are in my books in some way or another, particularly my knowledge of mental health, what people go through, and how they survive and how they come close to breaking. I suspect that anyone who gets to fifty and denies having at least one break down is a liar.
Ah well, this is a long answer to your question George, but I am soooo happy you "get" my book. I went the way of multiple POV, which some readers can't manage, but I figured if George R. Martin, "The Game Of Thrones" author can do it I can too. I love multiple POV as you can see. Susan

I read every night when I go to bed. I read from 11:00 pm until 1:30 am. I'm a night hawk. Always have been. (Night shifts while nursing at the hospital.) I cannot wait to get into bed with 'Wolf Dawn'!!
I can understand his enthusiasm for your books.
I'm in chapter 8 of "Wolf Dawn" and realy getting into it. I can hardly put it down, anxiously looking forward to the next page. How in the world did you come up with such a dispicable person as Admiral Jones, he makes me want to jump into the book and torture him for awhile.
Your son has a good reason to be proud of his Mum! Good writing Susan.
