As part of our commitment to updating Goodreads for readers, authors, and publishers, we have been hard at work on improvements, both public-facing and ‘under the hood.’ Here are some of the changes we’ve been working on, including our new logo which is starting to roll out today:
Our new logo is designed to better represent Goodreads and is optimized for accessibility so it looks clear and sharp no matter where you see it—from your phone to a billboard. The lowercase "g" incorporates a magnifying glass over an open book, symbolizing the book discovery and sharing of perspectives that are at the heart of the Goodreads experience. It’s fun, friendly, and focused on books—just like Goodreads.
New achievements in our popular annual Reading Challenge. We’ve been listening to readers’ feedback about wanting more reading motivation and recommendations throughout the year to help them achieve their annual reading goal. For authors and publishers, helping readers have fun while strengthening their reading habit builds a bigger audience for your books. We now introduce new rotating limited-time achievements throughout the year, and we’re delighted to see so many readers discovering books they wouldn’t normally choose or finally acquiring and reading that book they’ve been meaning to read. The latest set of achievements went live with the Summer Challenge earlier this month!
Your Want to Read list is now included in Your Books on Amazon. This has been one of our most popular customer requests and we’ve now made it easy for readers to reference the list of books they’ve already discovered when they are choosing their next book to read on Amazon. It’s another example of how driving Want to Read shelvings for your books on Goodreads delivers multiple benefits over time. Simply type "Your Books" in the search bar on the Amazon Store, and the top result will open the Your Books feature. (Currently available for US customers who have linked their Goodreads and Amazon accounts.)
Expanding our book catalog to now include more than a million audiobooks. This has been another popular customer request due to the growth in audiobook listening and adding more than a million audiobooks to our catalog allows readers to more easily keep track of all their reading. This significant expansion of our catalog helps authors and publishers as now Goodreads members can see when your books are available in audiobook format and add them to their Want to Read list. We’re listening to your feedback and look forward to sharing more updates here as our work progresses. As always, thank you for being part of the Goodreads community.
Happy reading,
The Goodreads Team
