Ashia, The Romance Reviews--This holiday season, treat yourself to the most decadent fantasy!
This book is a every woman's greatest fantasy coming true--a gorgeous guy interested in you when you thought no one would ever be again. Not only that but he comes in two's! How much better could that get?
While this is a fun, sexy, feel-good read, more sexual tension would've amped the intensity of the attraction and made the resulting encounter that much more satisfying. Also, the easy way she capitulated into Anthony's arms seems rather quick, considering the insecurity she had regarding her looks. But perhaps, despite her protests, she wanted to believe that there's a man who saw beneath her looks to the woman beneath.
At 30 or so pages, TWO IS TWICE AS NICE will warm you up quick in this cold holiday season.
Tigger9, Night Owl Reviews--"Two is Twice as Nice was a good read. I enjoyed reading it and getting to know the characters. It is very short and sweet.
Cara is hurt by the past, less than a year ago and does not know if she wants to open herself up again but she does for Anthony and then is thrown a curve ball when Devon does his thing. She had no idea that this was coming and was having a hard enough time believing that Anthony thought she was beautiful, let alone his twin too. A trick is played on her by Devon and she does not know if she wants to give them a chance but in the end she does.
I definitely wanted more out of this story. I wish that it had been longer."
Wendy, Happily Ever After Reviews--"Cara McCourt loved shopping unless it was close to Christmas and when she needed just a few more things to finish for this year and be done with it. Who would have thought that the worst shopping day of the year would turn her life into something so special...I give this book a 5 Tea Cups with a heat index 3 for being such a hot book that it would heat up the coldest days." 5 Tea Cups!
H.A. Brewer, Everybody Needs a Little Romance--"The interaction between the characters is well written with hidden clues to alert Clara all is not well in her world. Her interaction with one brother is sweet while the other adds extra spice to her life. There is adequate back story for this short story. Cara has lost her self confidence and becomes withdrawn; she goes to work and home. She gets her faith restored in people with the help of Anthony and Devon. They help her to see that she is beautiful to them and not damaged goods. Will she allow herself to live again? I enjoyed Two is Twice as Nice and give it 3½ Flaming Hearts."
Emily, Sensual Reads--"Two is Twice As Nice is a entertaining holiday read. I liked the way Emily Cale handled the insecurities Cara has from the remnants of the accident. A great quick read."
Cara is Christmas shopping when she literally runs into Anthony. He asks her out for coffee and she agrees. Though she’s hesitant when he asks her out again she agrees to that as well. They end up starting a relationship and Cara is thrilled. Anthony isn’t bothered by her disfiguring scar at all and thinks she’s beautiful. But one night when she mentions a date they went on to a bar Anthony freaks a bit and leaves. When Anthony introduces his identical twin brother, Devon, and lets Cara know that they both want her – together – Cara’s not sure what to think.
I think the story started off on a good foot but I was a tad appalled at Cara’s easy acceptance of something that happened – of which I can’t tell you without completely giving you a huge spoiler. I do understand that Cara had felt for a year that she would never be happy with a man and now she had two who wanted to be with her but the execution just wasn’t to my liking.
This a pretty short story at 33 pages so we didn’t get a lot of insight into Anthony or Devon at all. The story was in third person but we only saw things from Cara’s point of view. I think I would have liked to have seen the story be a bit longer and get more from the men of the story. Also, this is definitely a HFN story and not an HEA. Maybe we’ll hear more about the threesome in the future.
Cara McCourt loved shopping unless it was close to Christmas and when she needed just a few more things to finish for this year and be done with it. Who would have thought that the worst shopping day of the year would turn her life into something so special. Meeting Anthony was an extra special present for this Christmas he seemed to know exactly what she needed to finish her shopping and after her accident last year left her emotionally as physically scarred.
Not knowing what was happening to her she fell hard and fast for Anthony and when they met for a movie at her house she went out of her comfort zone and had the best sex ever. Their night was one of equal passion and she couldn’t believe that he was that into her, what she thought was a one night stand. Anthony was the type of guy who would stuck around.
A moment of telling Anthony the truth in the heat of passion could have caused so much trouble. Not knowing what to do Cara excepted Anthony invitation to meet when all of the sudden everything seemed to be perfect to perfect Christmas with one man is good but two is real nice. Anthony and Devon were twins she didn’t have sex with one but two amazing men.
I give this book a 5 Tea Cups with a heat index 3 for being such a hot book that it would heat up the coldest days.
Two is Twice as Nice by Emily Cale * I received a copy of this book from Breathless Press in exchange for an honest review*
Two is Twice as Nice is a story about a girl that was severely injured in a car accident a year ago. She has no self confidence and feels like everyone is always staring at her disfigurement.
Anthony accidentally runs into Cara at the mall knocking everything out of her hands. He offers to buy her a cup of coffee in return. They have a nice evening and decide o see where this relationship will go. No one expected the twist thrown their way.
The interaction between the characters is well written with hidden clues to alert Clara all is not well in her world.
I enjoyed Two is Twice as Nice and give it 3½ Flaming Hearts.
This is my first bad read of the new year. I am sick that I actually paid money for this. To say that it was cliche and unrealistic is to put it mildly. I love the idea of a girl hooking up with brothers, but these two just left me with a creepy feeling. I'm not willing to give the story away, but surfice it to say these characters cound use a lot more work. I didn't know if I wanted the poor fool to find love or run like hell.
Cara McCourt is out shopping for Christmas presents when she literally bumps directly into Anthony, who asks her out for coffee as payment for accepting minimal blame to the accident.
