Written for all job hunters - new entrants, mid-level people, very experienced individuals, and technical and non-technical job seekers - "Answering Tough" "Interview Questions For Dummies" is packed with the building blocks for show-stopping interviews.
I should point out that I'm reviewing the second edition of this book - the cover is slightly different, and presumably the contents have been updated, but the second edition isn't listed separately.
I should also point out that this book is aimed at the UK job market.
I've dug into a lot of interview skills books recently, as I'm actively job hunting and looking for help. A lot of books are either too basic, aimed at the US market, out-of-date or just not very well written. This is easily the best of the bunch out of the ones I've read, and like other "Dummies" books, it's easy to read, full of the relevant things you really need, and the material is well-organised, so you can find what you need without having to spend too long looking.
There's useful things in here for just about everyone, regardless of where you are in your career, and it's certainly been a useful confidence-boost and help in preparing for an interview I have later this week. Wish me luck!
A good book for beginners, it covers what most people would tell you to do before interview (for example, researching for the job you wanted/applied, ask other people's opinion on your resume, essential skills where every employers are searching for). The next part is, if you got the interview, research for the companies details (objective, location, production and etc). This book have good contents and is better if you take notes while using this book to keep yourself reminded.
This is a book that anyone who is about to interview with a company should read through at least once. It contains sample questions and answers. I feel much better now that I am freelance and don't have to go through these tedious interviews. However, it would be better to be able to answer the questions as a freelancer in order to tackle the job.
I read the book for the understanding of how interview questions work. I did not quite finish it, but I got what the author is presenting. I would recommend this book for anyone who has not beed in a job interview. It offers great tips.
The book is very helpful with lots of advice on difficult situations. It helped me get 3 job offers. I highly recommend for those who want to succeed in an interview.
