I didn't like this book at all - but that's not to say that it's a bad book - rather, I think that it's just not for me. I can't complain really as it was free on Kindle, but I found that it was dull, dull, dull and really hard to read. In fact, I confess, I didn't finish it. However, if architecture (gothic or otherwise) is your bag, then you might like this. I was hoping for a little elucidation about Gothic architecture and perhaps some insight I might be able to use in a later essay on Gothic literature - I didn't find anything to help me out, but that's not the book's fault. I was just looking in the wrong place. This book isn't claiming to be anything it isn't (the clue is in the title after all!) I just didn't like it myself.

Wonderfully written book by a man that was obviously passionate about the subject of Architecture in the early 19th century.
His description is as a written narrative and is all the better for it.
