A series of conversations promoted by the Center for China and Globallization in 2021 with experts of the highest level, on the course and problems of globalization. Although their analysis barely included the effects of the pandemic, as neither the war in Ukraine nor the current crisis in the Middle East had been unleashed, the high theoretical level of the guests provided essential tools to understand the course of the world economy and history beyond international conjunctures. Special mention I think deserves the talks with Valerie Hansen (The Year 1000 and the Beginnings of Globalization), Martin Wolf (Transformations in the Global Economy) Angus Deaton, Anne Case, and David Blair (Understanding Inequality in a Globalizing World), Kerry Brown (Bridging Differences Between China and the World) and Graham Allison and Chen Li (Thucydides's Trap Revisited: Prospects for China-US Relations).
