World War III Has Begun! This revision of Jerusalem Countdown, updated to address the recent conflict with Hezbollah, the roles of North Korea and Syria in the coming nuclear showdown, and the infiltration of Islamic terrorists on American soil. Enhancing the message of the original edition, which has sold more than 800,000 copies, John Hagee anticipates Israel’s strategies toward the Iranian threat and the resulting effect upon America. Hagee skillfully unveils the reasons radical Islam and Israel cannot dwell peaceably together as he paints a convincing picture explaining why Christians must support the State of Israel.

"On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves." - Zechariah 12:3
Terrible book! I read it as part of a men's bible study. This changed my opinion of Mr. Hagee irrevocably! It's amazing that someone as doctrinally unsound has the large following that he does. He asserts that the Jews basically get a free pass from God because of the divine origins of the Jewish nation. He dismisses large passages of the book of Romans as a Jewish "codicil" that apparently has limited application to us Christians! The editor should be fired! TWICE, Hagee states that Solomon's temple was one of the seven wonders of the world! I also found a glaring math mistake. I read it to the cover waiting for some kind of rational resolution but was sorely disappointed! I can't think about this book without righteous anger rising up in response to Haggee's heresies! I need to stop before I type something I will regret ... !
What a read! 10/10 a super informative book about the affairs of Israel in 2005. How they gave up the Gaza Strip, the views of the world leaders at the time, and many other details you really should read. I see some are talking about the theological parts but, if you would finish the book it all checks out biblically speaking. Not really a theological point of view when it’s what the Bible says. Regardless, the Jewish people have been persecuted for such a long time and this book highlights this as many of his books do. We must stand with Israel especially if you are Christian. God bless Israel.
A little dated, wrote circa 2005, however the message and the warning contained in the book is relevant up to this very day! Do not sleep on the threat to Christians and to Israel in the Middle East! As Christians we cannot turn our back on the Jews and to Israel or face certain destruction at the second coming of Christ! The threat of radical Islamic terrorism to our very existence, and w must meet it head on in the Middle East or face it on our front doorstep!!!
Too little (or too much) knowledge can be dangerous. Even though this book is dated, I thought it would be an interesting read to gain historic perspective. But what I encountered was a lot of untruth. I am by no means a Biblical scholar, but I have enough knowledge to know that much of what Hagee was preaching was more like bending the truth to fit his world perspective. While some of the information was actually correct, I ended up doing some research to verify the doubts that I had, not only about the content of the book but also about the author.
I rarely don't finish a book, because once I start it, I have disciplined myself to finish reading it. This one literally went in the trash when I finished it.
I always enjoy John Hagee books and videos. He always has great historical context about the Jews and how it relates to America and Christians. That is the case with this book. Good info and biblical reasoning. The great thing is how his opinions of future political changes (as written in 2005) are today truth (actually occurred as speculated).
Very good. Some of the data is a bit behind current events now, but the information is solid and will work itself out according to the bible. A good resource in following the Middle East current events.
I think this book was more informative and interesting than "In Defense of Israel", which I read recently. Although it was written in 2005, the information is still very relevant, even to the warnings in the first part of the book that Iran is only a few months off developing a nuclear bomb. 18 years later, Iran is still only a few months off developing a nuclear bomb! The book includes a very detailed history on the development of antisemitism, and warnings to Christians if they don't love the Jewish people. Hagee includes a detailed study of Romans 9 - 11, which he reckons is a codicil to the Jews. These chapters include all the reasons why Christians must not ignore the Jewish people, especially now they're back in their own land, which signifies we are in the end of days. This is a very good teaching book for those who don't understand antisemitism, and it is easy to read.
in a world where someone like john hagee can be taken seriously, anything goes. when at one point he says that 1948 is more than 2000 years after 70 ad before proceeding to explain what a jew is, i knew that the world was done. in his prime, this man was close to world leaders and policy makers, and was the leader of a church with 100s of 1000s of members. so don't worry if your socks don't match.
I was turned off early in the book by what appears to be Hagee's neo-con bias. It's clear here that Hagee's agenda is to convince Americans that all Muslims are evil, Jews need our support, and God will bless those who bless Israel. I'm in agreement with Hagee that we should support the Jews, of course, but I don't think we should hate any group of people, just the sin itself. Jesus died for everyone. I don't partcularly like the Islamic religion from what I know of it, and I don't support Palestinian takeover of the Gaza strip and surrounding area. But Hagee seems especially critical at a time when we should be trying to lead people to salvation rather than pointing fingers.
Supposedly, England, France, Germany, Spain and other European countries were at one time against the Jews. Even Americans supported Muslims at one point. We ought to repent and support Israel, says Hagee. John Paul II and Pope Benedict actually apologized to the Jews. Some people see Christianity as a replacement religion, but God never broke or changed His covenant with Israel. Hagee claims the antichrist will come from Europe.
Aside from SEVERAL doctrinal differences, there are profound cases of circular logic and "leaps" of logic that I was unmoved by. You can at least make some of those cases in the realm of theology, but the first third of the work is pretty secular and deserves much logic than it received. At the end of the day I agree that Israel is "special" and Iran is evil; but if I had only Pastor Hagee's arguments to stand on I would pretty pretty shallow!
I know, I know...the guy's a fanatic, but what he presents in this book cannot be discounted. It makes sense to me, because, hey...I've always loved the Jews...they are truly God's chosen ones, and their land--Israel--will be the focal point of the world at its turning point, in our time.
I was curious about the topic of applying current events to the future events predicted by the Bible. I cannot in good conscience recommend this book to anyone and I regret that I stuck with it to the end. Outside of pure fictional guesswork for content, the writing style was simply poor.
This book was very insightful into the conflict in the Middle East. I learned a lot about Jewish and Christian relations as well as the second coming of Christ.
